Hau Duong joined Spatial Genomics as Vice President of Engineering in 2021, bringing broad industry experience from start-ups to Fortune 100 corporations. He has over 25 years of experience in R&D, engineering, product development, and manufacturing. Prior to Spatial Genomics, Hau co-founded SAFCell and served as its Chief Operating Officer. He also served as VP of R&D for Gyrus, a wholly owned subsidiary of Olympus. Before Gyrus, Hau was VP of Engineering and Manufacturing for Nanostream, a microfluidic company. He also served as Director of Instrumentation at Motorola, where he led the development of the eSensor DNA system that became the flagship product for Genmark Diagnostics, a wholly owned subsidiary of Roche Holdings. Hau holds a PhD from UC Irvine and MBA from University of Ottawa.
