Michael Elowitz, PhD

Michael Elowitz is a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Investigator and Professor of Biology and Biological Engineering at Caltech. Dr. Elowitz’s laboratory has introduced synthetic and systems biology approaches to build and understand biological circuits in individual cells and tissues. Honors include the HFSP Nakasone Award, MacArthur Fellowship, and Sackler Prize in Biophysics. Dr. Elowitz also serves on the advisory board for the Allen Institute.
